This is the buck that my oldest shot at Larke's at the beginning of this month. I had never boiled a head out before, much less went through the process of whitening, etc.

I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so.

I ordered the board and pedestal on taxidermy site. It came with the picture mount. I had the brass plaque made here local. I broke one of the little screws for the plaque, they weren't no bigger around than a needle. I'll have to get another one to replace it.

My wife LOVES it sitting on the table in our little breakfast nook. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161226/e142a5fa013ed6d7b3afc1cfca6ff76a.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161226/7defe0e9dcf008b88610f12d0cc345ad.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161226/c8e039dfee3c141072b584f43efe8251.jpg

Very nice! For the longest time, I never cared for the European mount, but they've pretty much grown on me the past few years. One thing that makes it super cool (and MUCH cheaper) is that with a bit of effort, you don't have to pay those astronomical taxidermy fees. Plus you get the satisfaction of accumulating bragging rights for doing it yourself. Good job! :thumbsup

Don't need camo in these condos. Might as well dress for warmth and comfort not looks!
