Hope it works better for you than for me. My wife says she likes retirement - but she doesn't. She's bored and near as I can tell, it's my fault. ;)

I guess you can never tell who's going to take to it and who isn't.

I may be in trouble. One thing I do know about my wife for certain is when she is bored, she tends to spend a lot more money.

Has she got a long-lost sister in Virginia?

She may have two.

Apparently she's got more than just one sister in Va.

My child bride is 11 years younger than myfineself so I think I'll be her houseboy and personal chef for 10 years or so and then she'll wheel me around to a few travel destinations and then prolly roll me off a cruise ship one night so she can enjoy the rest of her life with someone her age.

Len, at some point in life you'll discover that just about everyone is 11 years younger than you.

Make sure you get the big electrical charger deal with the paddles when you do.

Dang P-hole. We should hook up for a cruise sometime in the future. Lynn's still working (SOMEBODY has to support me) but she gets something like 5 weeks vacation. We have one trip booked for a week in Cozumel (been there a couple times before) and a short cruise to the Bahamas. Then, we always do about elebenty-bazillion (2-3 day) weekend trips during the year. I also promised her a week stay to anyplace in the world (her choice) ... but we don't know where that will be yet. I think she narrowed it down to Paris (I've been there, she hasn't), Columbia or Morocco so far. I'd like to do a cruise in the fall, just not sure what kind of time we'll have.

I've always loved travel and after all that near death bullshit, I've decided I don't care if the house falls down around us (and it's starting to do so), as long as the roof doesn't leak and the plumbing works, every spare penny we have will go toward travel. I sure wish we could afford to have her retire at 60! :(

For some reason I can't see BBP cotton to the whole cruise thing.

I've been on a few cruises and I don't much care for them. When I go somewhere I want to explore.

Let's go rent a house on the Pacific side of Costa Rica and party like rock stars. I'm game for something like that!

I wanna drive on their roads, I wanna piss their native drivers off, I wanna stop at a convenience store and drink some local beer and give a white boy smile to people giving me side eye. I wanna learn the local car horn language.

Man, you can't do that shit on a cruise.

And they make you dress up for dinner. Which delights my wife. And makes me forlorn.

I'm all for porn myownfineself! ;)

Yep, when it comes to cruises, the cruise line makes all the difference in the world. I think you all know how much I like to travel to the not so normal destinations and blend with the locals, but I can't physically do that anymore. Hence, the big push for cruises. The excursions are the chance to get out to the local hot spots and you can customize your options to fit your interests and abilities. If you want to throw away your money and have a shitty cruising experience, jump on one of the crappy lines like Carnival, Celebrity, Norwegian or Royal Caribbean. Then if you older than your 20's and you're not dragging 3-4 kiddies along with you, definitely avoid a Disney cruise. ARRRRGGGGHHHH! If you want to feel like you're on a grade school playground, go for it.

Yep, I love Costa Rica and for many years, had planned on possibly retiring there (2nd choice after Thailand). It sucks now that I can't hike, dive, swim or do much of anything too strenuous, so I have to cool it and just do what I'm physically capable of and cruises fit the bill pretty well ... as long as it's a decent cruise line.

Thump - when the wife turned 40 I threatened to trade her in for two 20s.. She said, "Take it from someone who knows; you're not wired for 220". sniff.
