Yeah, yeah I know, politics is taboo around here for a while, but ya'll give me a pass since I was held hostage in yankee-land all last week, and I hadn't heard this point of view.

We've all heard folks saying that if a Demo. had won this election, there would never be another Repub. to ever get elected, again....well, the old timer at the coffee shop carried it a bit further....he said, after Obama's presidency, there would never be another black president to get elected, again....hmmm, I never even thought about it, that way.

I don't know that I fully agree with him, but I certainly hope the next one would be more qualified, transparent, and patriotic....and, doesn't go play golf, when the nation needs attending to.

I think politics are probably okay. Its the opposing views that are the problem. If none are offered, then we're one big happy family.

I don't know Muddy. I have known a bunch of Canadians and I don't think any of them are that well tanned.

They tend towards the pastier side.

Ps or is that you?

Could be !!!....just remove the tan, green eyes, and beard, and it'd be the spittin' image of my good-looking self. ;)

That is an admirable beard though.

From my experience, most Canadians do not care for Trump. Personally, I think he is a colossal asshole BUT if I were an American I would like the things he says he will do and I probably would have voted for him. Sometimes you have to take the likes and dislikes for the person out of the equation and just go with whatever will be most likely to get you where you want to go. Pragmatism.

I'm trying to figure out what the "old timer" was drinking. I couldn't give two shits what color Obama was. And I don't think most my generation and younger do either.
I don't care about color - I care about the platform.
Hell trump is orange and I voted for him.

Really? Over 95% of African-Americans that voted in 2008 voted for Obama. Do they always vote that Democratic or was there another reason?

When did color ever enter into the picture? This somehow went way sideways.

Oops, sorry. Carry on. I must've missed the racial part of the conversation. I was mesmerized by the tanned canadian with the awesome beard and totally missed that part.
