Perchmania! I've never experienced such crazy good ice fishing for perch before. The size, quality, and number of perch bordered on the unbelievable.

Hauling them in just plain wore me out. Had to lay down on the job when it was all over. ;)

The net must be just outside the frame of this pic. ;)

Man, that's some good eatin' right there. I'm not big on eatin' fish, but I can handle a mess o'fried perch! (as long as someone else cleans it and cooks it) ;)

I'll bet cleaning them was fun!

That'll sure enough stink up the pan, the kitchen, the whole damn house!

Your camo don't match, and they would have been good ones next year and someone done shot your boots full of rivets! What's up with dat?
That looks like a cool day fishing in more than one way! Congrats.

What's the average size of those BS? They look a LOT bigger than what we catch round here

Do you all have those tiger stripes in Virginny? Our perch here will have bars but they aren't perch perch, they're bluegill and sunfish and what not ya see. No tiger stripes.

We definitely have yellow or "ring" perch. They're one of the first species to migrate up the rivers in the spring. When I was a kid, I an easily remember me and a buddy catching 100+ in a day.

Arty, around 10" many of them went 12-13" which for perch is very respectable. Fat as footballs.

Yeah we got those. Spiney little f'ers. They flare out their gills and you gots to be careful you don't slice your hand open getting them off the hook!

Those gill plates are as sharp as a razor blade. It's the same on walleyes. I've have my fingers sliced pretty good by both. The most wicked fish I've ever grabbed bare handed was a sturgeon. Only did that once. Those things will shred the hide right off of you!

Walleyes can get ya but I think the absolute best knife fighters in the fish world are white bass. A sandy can make you cuss in about a nanofucket. Which is pretty dang quick.

Little bass in the 11-12 inch variety are only good for yanking treble hooks through your digits too.

Nice mess o' feesh, Sky.. I'll add one to the "bleed as you go" category. First time I ever fly fished for gar was on Mark Twain Lake in MO. First fish I "hooked' my "guide" said, "Prepare to bleed". Bastards have "teeth" all over their bodies. ;)

Fido, we used maggots.
