I disagree Barry. In that town it is their biggest fish to fry and I'm darn proud of a community finally taking a stand. I hope to see more of it. The news media likes to focus on the left wing extremists and portray everyone else as being racist or crazy. Well some folks, including me ,are fed up with it. I think there are a couple valid points being made.

Nobody likes an outsider telling them what right and wrong. I agree with this.
There are far more important things to fight about than a flag being flown. I agree with this.
If it were a Confederate flag, or a KKK flag, or a BLM flag... the conversation would change pretty damn quickly and that's some bullcrap.

So I recommend flying the flag you;d like and telling anyone that doesn't like it to not look at it.

I reacted more to the 'if you disagree then stfu' and the threat of 'you'll get what you got coming'. And here I think a city ought to be able to fly any flag they want as long as they allow any other flag to be put up. Hell, I could care less if they spell out Onward Christian Soldiers in semafores. But I do get my dander up when I'm told to respect some religious flag or else. The 'go frack yourself' mode kicks in real fast at that point.

There should only be one question asked when that little town decides what flag it wants to fly in front of its police station. Are they there to serve and protect all of the town's citizens or not? If the answer is yes, then they ought to fly the one flag that represents all of its citizens. Period.
