The NCAA (National Committee against Athletes) needs to go away, vanish, poof be gone. And take their communist manifesto of ridiculous rules with them.
The latest two absurdities 1) they're leaving the targeting rule intact. If ever there was a rule that begged tinkering with it's this one. I'm 100% in agreement with player saftey short of putting skirts on them and playing two hand touch but come on, this is fubared on so many levels.
2) Starting this season, a tackle by grabbing the back of the jersey around the area with the name will be considered a horse collar carrying a 15 yd penalty. I was wrong, maybe we do need to break out the skirts and go to touch football. Even better lets just plug all the vital stats in a computer and use simulations instead. That way the only injuries will be finger cramps by the programmers.
You want player safety? Chop block = auto eject and 15 yds for any intentional block on or below the knees would be a good start.
