My wife and I stopped to have supper at a popular little local sandwich shop, last night....we were standing in line to place our order, behind a family of six (counting the kids), who were not local folks, and the father didn't have enough money....he was a couple of dollars short, so I leaned in, and whispered to him and the cashier that I would pay the difference....the guy turned to me, and gave me the nastiest day'um stink eye you ever saw....it was one of those kiss-my-azz facial expressions....then, he literally hollered across room, at one of the older kids, who was at the soda machine, to bring him some money....the kid walked up, and scoured his pockets for some loose change.

The guy paid, and walked off without a word, and they all sat down at a table in the furtherest corner of the place....now, I'm just not the type person who even expects a thank-you, in those situations, but day'um, it sure makes you wanna keep your day'um mouth and wallet shut.

It probably just embarrassed him. I've been in similar situations and its hard to know what the right thing to do is. Well, actually let me restate that: its hard to know how people will react when you DO the right thing.

The thing I wanna know is why old guys wear suspenders???....they ain't lost any weight, but their waistlines look skinny, and their gut is about the same size, as always....I'm having the same problem.

I've not lost any weight(225 lbs.), but I've never had much of an azz to hold up my britches....now, it seems like it's getting worse....think I'll get me a pair of those big ole John Deere suspenders. ;)
