I picked up an old tool at an estate sale ... only because it looked interesting to me and I'd never heard of the manufacturer. It was stamped "Vindobona Importing Co. - Austria". So, I started researching Vindobona and found in 1970, the company was purchased by Seymour Manufacturing Co. in Seymour, Indiana. So, naturally, I then studied up on Seymour Mfg. (half the fun with this eBay venture is learning about the stuff I pick up) Anyway, I thought you, being the former posthole digger that you are, might find this interesting in Seymour's history:

"Early in the twentieth century the company expanded by acquiring the Hall Manufacturing Company in northern Indiana, makers of posthole diggers and augers ..... By 1967 Seymour Manufacturing could boast that it controlled 70 percent of the American posthole digger market."

Just a bit of useless trivia to help clog up your already clogged brain cells. ;)

Yep, you need a new moniker, anyway....instead of "Postie", I think I'll start addressing you as "T-Post". ;)

I'd suggest you be on your best behavior Ticboy ... or I may have to report you to Cappy. He's keeping a close eye on you lately. ;)

Seymour Indiana is also the small town that John Mellencamp sang about. That's his hometown.

And, that was a good one, Len.
