They say it's fun but I can't force myself to hunt in warm weather when the white perch are biting.

I been mowing at the farm the past couple of hours. Saw two big long beard turkeys on the driveway while on the mower Then came to mow Yard at the house and there were two hens in the front yard. They hung out long enough for me to make a picture.

Those girls are at the SC farm. That's my SC house. You been to my NC house you know it's in the woods....
The Toms were on the SC farms also. They were about 400 yards apart and about 30 minutes from running into each other.

Wow, I would've said copperhead on first look.

I like king snakes. They are cool.

I defeinitely went copperhead on the first look and no other look really matters in my book. If you look that similar to a copperhead, you a copperhead!

I basically treat all snakes as if they're venomous. Hell, I don't want to get bit by either kind. So far, that system has worked for 53 years.

King Snakes eat rattlesnakes/copperheads in fact they love em...never kill a king snake unless you want more rattlesnakes.

I wouldn't kill it. But I also, and more importantly, wouldn't fuck with it likesomepeopleweknow.

I don't kill them unless I know them to be venomous and they're somewhere near where kids might be. I do, however, fuck with them almost every time - from the end of the longest stick I can find.

I caught that one while turkeyhunting at the hunt club. I took him to the farm and turned him loose there

They're great to have around the house ... they take care of other, less desirable critters. :thumbsup

Can you they eat a Kribbs, you don't get much more undesirable than that.

Apparently, cottonmouths aren't on a king snake's favorite's-list for dining fare....prolly 'cause they stink so bad, ornery as heck, very aggressive when with young, and just big mean mofo's....I'd rather tangle with a 6 ft. timber rattler, any day, than a 3 ft. momma cottonmouth with young....they are quick as rabbit, and will chase 'yo azz down!!!

After spending much of my life stomping around these ol' Florida swamps, I'd need a calculator to figure out how many of those mean bastids I've come across. The worst part is, they smell a lot like Cappy after he's been cuttin' hay on a hot day. ;)

Actually, to me, the nesting females smell the worse....smell somewhat like rotten fish....otherwise, except for the nesting females, the smell is very similar to that of an active bream bed.

When I smell a bream bed, it reminds me of what anise oil smells like. Old timely worm rigs were packed in some anise oil way back when.

anise oil one of the main ingredients that you soak snag lines in. Catfish love it
