That's fried crawdad tails , catfish, shrimp, fries and hush puppies. It was excellent too.

You're both right. I stumbled in this place last week up in the Finger Lakes of NY. (Who knew Yankees could put on a good fish fry?). I had hot sauce on the oysters and malt vinegar on the fries. TBH, I mostly focused on the oysters, coleslaw and beer. Prolly 3/4 of those fries (mostly the short bits) were left on the plate.

A suthern man does not leave fries on his plate. Or his wife's plate. It is acceptable to leave them on the kids plate after they've been handled and drowned in ketchup

I love me some fries, but a fried potato is just about one of the worst things you can put in your body. So, while I eat them, I usually try to leave some on the plate. It's how I keep my boyish figure.
