...a cheap, wood replacement stock for my daughter's 20g 870 youth express?

Several of us were recently able to convince the school board to allow the 3 public high schools in town to participate in the USA Clay Target Association's High School Trap Shooting League. With only a two-day notice, we were able to get 38 kids signed up and began practice on April 2nd.

It became apparent while working with the head coach, that my daughter's gun doesn't quite fit her which is causing her to shoot high. He offered to cut the buttstock down to fit her properly but she doesn't want to mess up the stock since I sanded it all down, stained it with a colored wood stain, and put 9 coats of clear coat on it prior to giving it to her.

I can't talk her into making the modification, so am looking for a cheap replacement that no one will care about if we start whittling it down. Given it is going to cost me $100 to make the modifications, I don't want to spend another $100 for a new stock to put on a gun I bought used for only $225 to begin with.

I've tried the Remington website and Numrich Gun Parts so far. Any ideas on where else to look?

Is the magnum stock interchangeable? There's one on eBay right now with 4 days left on the auction. It's starting out at $0.01 ($15.00 shipping) and there are no bids so far. There ARE 4 possible snipers watching it though.

Good ideas both of you but LJ, I didn't see any 20 g wooden stocks.

As for Thump's idea, I'm going to keep an eye on that one. Thanks!
