WOW! It's obvious SOMETHING in there is a real treasure and the guy who listed them has no clue what he had. At first, I thought maybe it was a hoax and a bunch of jerks were screwing around and would retract their bids at the end of the auction. The winner was actually an anonymous bidder, but the guy right under him looks totally legit (not that the winner isn't). The second highest bid ($10,555) was placed by a guy who's had over 2500 transactions and has a 100% positive feedback record. I have a few estate sales I'll be hitting tomorrow ... I may have to take a closer look to see if I can spot any old duck calls! The crazy thing is, the bidding would have probably gone higher if the seller would have known what he had. He doesn't have ONE single maker listed in his title. The only people bidding just stumbled on it with a generic search. Dang! Some people have all the luck!

Yep, 71 bids from 18 different bidders.....I'd say it's legit, and there's something special about those duck/turkey calls, but I haven't the faintest idea....I followed the last 5 minutes of that bidding war, just to watch the fireworks. ;)

What a way to get started. The seller is a newbie and only has a whopping FIVE feed-backs. I see above I said the no. 2 guy has over 2500 transactions ... I meant (100% positive) feed-backs ... which means he probably has 3500-4000 or so transactions. As an example, I have 2199 transactions with 1623 feed-backs (100% positive), so I'm even a newbie compared to him. (no clue who the actual buyer is)

That is crazy.
I wonder which one(s) were the crown jewel?
Also wonder if the seller knew what he had.

Either the seller was completely clueless, or just "acting" dumb.....I visit several duck hunting sites, with some pretty smart guys, but they haven't a clue, either.
Something tells me that the one in the top right corner of the picture might be the crown jewel.....I've never seen a duck call quite like that one.

One would think the shipping would be free on a sale like that.

Ha, yep, I thought the same thing, Tpost....heck, for a $10K sale, I'd deliver them personally to their doorstep. ;)

Obviously he had no clue what he had. They could have sold at his initial asking price of $18.00. That's a little bit too much to gamble on if he knew what he had. The fact he didn't even mention a maker's name in her s ad title is bad enough. I suppose if he'd only received his $18 asking no price, he could have used a few extra bucks for shipping. I think he won the lottery on a $1.00 ticket.
