I was kind'a glued to the TV this morning as Lynn was getting ready for work. When she left, I gave her a little peck on the cheek and told her to have a nice day. Afterwards, she gave me kind of an odd "look" and said, "Is that all?" So, I added, "Be careful on the way to work". She was still giving me "that look" as she backed out of the driveway.

I just happened to glance at the date a minute ago and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Today is our 32nd "anniversary"! I'm screwed. :banghead

""""" I'm screwed. """""

Ha, only if you buy jewelry, ask forgiveness, and get real lucky. ;)

Jewelry is out. We met in Beverly Hills and that was our usual hangout for a few years. (I worked in B/H and she worked in Century City) Remember, we were in with that Hollywood crowd back in the 80's when the mens wore as much jewelry as the wimmins. We BOTH made good money in those days and every birthday, Christmas, or sometimes just for the heck of it, we'd buy each other jewelry. That stuff has been sitting in the safe for at least 20 years now, untouched. Heck, since cell phones, we don't even wear watches anymore (she has a nice Rolex I bought for her). I thought I'd try selling a lot of that crap when gold was at elebenty-bazillion dollars/ounce, but she'd have nothing to do with it. (dang wimmins get sentimental about crap like that) Heck, she even has a .. dang, I can't even remember what it is ... silver mink (?) stole I bought for her one Christmas. Brilliant, duh! Real practical considering we lived in Southern California and then moved to Florida. She wore it to a function we attended in L.A. and that was it. When we moved here in 1989, we put it into cold storage in Orlando, where it's been ever since. We certainly don't do "formal occasions" anymore. So, storage fees at $60/year for the past 28 years .. well, you do the math! Granted, I paid $4000 for it in the 80's, but these days, it's prolly worth $400 on the "used" market (I have no clue really). The point is, we've paid more than it's worth just in storage fees! Like the jewelry, I mentioned selling the mink at one point and I thought she was gonna cry! I guess I'm just not the sentimental type and am more practical. BUT ... how can I sell a gift I gave to someone anyway?

Nowadays, our special occasions always have food and/or travel involved. I guess I'd better find a nice restaurant for dinner this weekend (tomorrow is a work day for her and I have an early estate sale to attend). Maybe I'll print out one'a those cards off the internet. ;)
