Call it what you will, but it sure seems to ring true.....my grand-dad told me, years ago, that, "If it rains on the first day of the month, then it will rain at least 15 days, during that month.".....thru the years, I've seen that hold true, prolly 90% of the time, even during the summer months, when rain should be sparce.

We got a good shower here on June 1st, and so far, it's rained 12 days outta the past 19 days, and there's 11 more days to go.....everyone's field crops look awesome.....my sunflowers are kicking butt, too.

I'm hoping for another good rain shower on July 1st. ;)

In Florida, we wonder WTF is going on if we don't get a daily rain shower. So far, I'm not sure we've missed a day. It's great actually. It stays sunny until around 3:00 in the afternoon, rains for 30 mins, cools everything down, then the sun comes back out. ;)

The major problem I have with it is .... it makes my ^&$@^&**$ grass grow!! :angry1

That's one I've never heard. I'll add it to my noticer list of things to check out.
I've also heard that if it rains while the sun is shining it'll rain again tomorrow.

We call those "sun-showers". I'm sure you remember those from the Air Farce days.

Yep, and, supposedly, if it thunders, while the sun is shining and it's raining at the same time, that means the devil is beating his wife. ;)

I thought about beating mine yesterday but I wasn't sure I could whip her. And even if I could I'd have to sleep some time so I postponed it to a later date

When I was a young kid and heard thunder, my grandmother would tell me the angels were rearranging their furniture. ;)

I thought if the sun was shining or if it was raining it was an indicator of whether Jimmy was beatin' the bishop.

No, that's when he is squeezin' the weasel.

Jim, I remember the daily showers quite well. It cooled things down for ten minutes or so before the humidity set in.

In St Pete they hit around 4:30 every afternoon.

Yep ... in fact, we just had a nice downpour a few minutes ago. It's stopped already.

Oh ... BTW ... why don't you and LJ go get your stools and report back to me!
