The last boat I owned was a 27' Stamas cuddy cabin. I was out in the Gulf of Mexico one weekend when a storm blew in. As I was hauling ass back toward the marina, lightning was hitting the water all around me. It looked like a war movie where mortar rounds are going off everywhere. I never saw anything like the video here, but this day, a huge plume of water would shoot straight up with every hit. I'd never seen anything like it before, and I've never seen anything like it since. I'd have to guess I had 10 lightning strikes within 100 yards of my boat. I had three other people with me and they all hid down in the cabin while leaving me out there to die! ;)

IMO, even though I was running a 350 Chevy with a Mercruiser outdrive, that thing could not go fast enough ta' get me back to the dock that day!
