Lenster showed me a cool crowd sourcing app for driving called Waze. It has a pretty good mapping and routing function but it also notifies you where there are accidents, cars on the shoulder, cops, etc too. Pretty cool too since its all reports by folks who are up ahead of you that use the app, which appears to be a lot of people. I'm sitting here at home in my little town and there are 30 reports close by.
Check it out on your next road trip. Kinda cool.

We did discover, however, that using it in Iowa has limited value for notifications since it's just 3 dudes in a pickup and 76,000,000 square miles of corn.

I've been using it for a couple years. Really like it.

You're kind of late to the party on this one Posthole! It's basically the only GPS I use. I've got a NAV system in my Jeep that I probably haven't even turned on since the first month I owned it. (I didn't really want it in the first place, but it came with the "package".)

Yep, Lynn and I both have had it on our phones for ... heck, I can't remember how long.

Is technology slow to arrive in Oklahoma? ;)

It's a great app that I know for certain has kept me from getting several tickets

I prefer to think of myself as a "Renaissance Man". That RT guy is something right out of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"...

Well, I guess I'm in the same boat as Tpost because that's news to me, too.....might be sorta useful to me in my work, especially since they are wanting me to work in Minnesota and Iowa next month.
