This was another keepsake passed down from my step father. I never knew him to fish at all. So, I was bit surprised by it. My only other fly rod is a Smallmouth bass/shad outfit that I have a love hate relationship with. I've actually been thinking about picking up a small stream trout rod and am wondering if this fits the bill. My limited research leads me to believe that it's an entry level outfit by Orvis standards. I'm curious as to whether it has some age to it.

Either way, I'll keep it and cherish it. Just curious.

Looks like the reel alone is bringing a consistent $75-$100 on The Bay.

That rod is all over the map, but worth at least what the reel is bringing ... maybe more.

Don't look now but you're gonna need a hunnerd dollar hat and a $500 pair of waders (no felt diddymo breath) to fish with that outfit.

Nah, I'll always be the wet wading straw hat wearing sort...

Well it's certainly the right size and weight for trout.

I think Thump is right in the ball park on price.. Just the "O" name helps. ;) As far as a small stream rod - a 7' 11" 4 weight would be a sweetheart. Nice combo - congrats.
