I was half in half out on the Trump thing, in the give a guy a chance bucket. Some of the stuff he does I really like, but he lost me with the Nazi thing. Sort of like Obama not standing tall and denouncing with 0 wiggle room on groups that perpetrated violence against officers. When you have a clear bunch of shit heads call them out...Trump failed at doing that.

Maybe his heart was not in denouncing it? Also sorta like Obummer didn't believe he should denounce the violence against cops.

You actually hit perfectly on both my issues. Both of their hearts should be in denouncing it. And, I am in complete agreement Obamma is every bit as guilty on the other side of this issue. What I would really like is for rationale people to not be so polarized by "their candidate that they will call bullshit when it's due. It never seems to happen.

Yep, he is. Anyone else think Pence is sitting down with his advisors right now having this conversation..... "Look back in July you a$$ holes told me he'd be impeached by now and I'd be president."

I'm confused .... according to CNN, he hasn't accomplished ONE thing since he's been in office. :huh

Chicken Dinner
08-18-2017, 11:04 AM
That's because Larke's list is weak sauce at best. No repeal and replace, not one dime spent on the wall by either us or the Mexicans and he's using racism to draw everyone's attention away from his Russia "problem". The reality is he hasn't accomplished a damn thing that can't be erased with a stroke of the next President's pen.

But, as long as us deplorables are happy because at least it's not Hilary, it's all good!

Hehe. The slick old country boy wouldn't be above doing a little baiting. :p

Serious question though, and I'm not being provocative or flippant here. Has the thought crossed anyone else's mid that maybe, just maybe this nation has become... ungovernable?

I hate to even think it let alone say it out loud. But I swear to god we are showing all the symptoms of a country so divided, so deeply divided, that we might not be able to govern ourselves anymore. It used to be that men were ashamed to considered hysterical. I'm not sure it isn't considered a badge of honor now.

Either ole Bucky is a soothsayer or a really smart guy.....about 3 years ago, he posted that very thing.....he said that our govt. had gotten too big to be governed and was out of control like a runaway locomotive.....a rather big discussion followed. ;)

I try and stay away from political threads and arguments but 0fella's, Trump is a FUCKIN IDIOT! Hell of a choice last year between a woman I fucking can't stand and this assclown I was afraid would destroy the country.

I suddenly feel prophetic, and think I'll plagiarize my south MS brother, Doc Shockley:

"""It's my hope that when people get done tearing down statues, digging up graves , protesting flags that they put the same effort in getting gangs out of neighborhood's, improving schools in the inner cities, protest the loss of blue collar union jobs to foreign countries, protest these companies wanting to pay non living wages and no benefits to hard working men and women. Tearing down a statue does nothing to stop drugs , digging up a boys grave that died in Virginia carrying a musket doesn't bring back an automotive plant, so when your finished fighting about something from 150 years ago , let's join up and fight for the future of our children cause believe me I'm more worried about tomorrow than I am about yesterday."""

This bullshit has nothing to do with statues. And I don't know many people who don't think that local towns and cities and states can make up their own minds about what monuments they want to put up. But the statue deal is a giant red herring in this deal.

What do you mean Posthole? The statues should come down??

Captain

Blacks, who were never slaves are fighting whites who were never Nazis, over Confederate statues, erected by Democrats . . . because Democrats can't stand their own history anymore . . . yet, somehow it's Trumps fault!

BarryBobPosthole

What do you mean Posthole? The statues should come down??

I mean that whatever the voters or representatives in a city decide to do with them is perfectly fine by me. And it also really ain't none of my business.

But the statues have nothing to do with Charlottesville.

And statues ain't got nothing to do with the shitstorm over Trump's comments about it. Its all a ruse, like Hank said. I just hope this crazy bastard doesn't get us in a war.

They're going all ape-shit about statues down here also ... and removing the dang things. This latest b/s really pisses me off. The stupid thing is, I saw Al Sharpton on TV last night demanding the federal government halt funding the Jefferson Memorial. He said his tax dollars shouldn't go to supporting a monument to a dufe who boinked a slave and made a baby! WTF??? HIS tax dollars??? Wasn't he charged for not paying 4.5 million bucks in taxes? What a frigging idiot!

I've sorta been out of the news but I do think they arrested the gal that put the rope on the statue. Maybe others. The only news I've seen on it has been on Facebook.

BarryBobPosthole
08-18-2017, 09:56 PM
I think I saw today they had arrested three or four people and were lookng at more.

There is no excuse for tearing shit up.

That's right. If the area no longer wants the thing they could sell it to a collector, or move it to some museum.
It's just stupid to make such an issue out of this.

Such a entitled, soiled bunch of asshats.
I'd say put them in jail for a long time.
Congress should pass a law making it punishable by death to harm and statue.
