I've got a couple old Pflueger Supremes.

You'd better get that for Cappy or Airbud or better yet, Posthole.

The reel is adjustable and it also has Oil Cups.
I like the "Flew-ger" spelled out!

Ha ha ha! I hadn't even noticed that. I guess back in the day, nobody knew how to pronounce it. :D

I to have a couple Supremes DD.. both still in the box. (they aren't hugely valuable) also have a couple styled like the "Trump".. don't think they are Pfluegers - but I'll have to look..

I remember my Uncle Bill fished with reels like that, with dacron line on them. They seemed to me to be impossible to cast. You could beat things into submission with the rods if needed.
My cousin Billy, or as the family still calls him 'Little Bill' raided his tackle box unmercifully when we were kids. For years, I carried around an old Sonc lure in his memory that was pilfered from his box.
Good memories.

the Sonic was the precursor to the Hotspot which is the forerunner to the rattletrap.

Was it red and white?

We never used them as bait casters. We only used them when we were trolling

As I recall, Vince it was all white and had scales a big dorsal fin. It was solid and casted like casring a spark plug.

There is just something cool about old outdoors equipment. I wish they could speak. Lots of cool stories in those old warriors.

This is the fireplace mantle in my office. I've worn a good bit of paint off of all of those reels and some of them aren't that far removed from the one in the pic.
And I have a dozen more in a cabinet in the garage. I can't seem to throw one away.
