I'm giving mine a workout! Works great with a long extension cord to the house.

I got one of these bad boys, sitting in my shop on a trailer with new tires.....say the word, and I'll have one of the local young bucks bring it to you.

You could prolly bring it down here right now and sell it for enough to buy 4-5 more!

Game plan? What's that? I've spent my whole life just "winging it", no reason to change now! ;)

I'd start with cutting that great big tree up.

From what I've seen down there, I'd start by cleaning the sheeit outta my drawers, if I had been there, when Irma really unleashed her wrath. ;)

Thump hasn't changed his drawers since '09. I don't think it'd make a difference today vs last week.

LED light bulbs will help.....

Not with your brown stained undershorts though.

Well it looks like the Florida house is still standing and no flood damage. We got lucky.
Neighbor says a few shingles and a buncha limbs to pick up but other than that we are golden!
I'm at the NC house tonight and the wind really got up and has knocked out power all around.
I was out for a total of about 6 seconds. The generator cranked up and transferred power! Now I don't have a clue how long we will be on generator but it sure beats being in the dark.

Is the generator plumbed into Nat gas?

5 AM and we are still on generator power.
Yes ours is propane, with an auto crank and transfer switch.

Just got out and met a friend for breakfast. Trees down everywhere. Lots of folks without power.
Can't even tell where my driveway is, and those of you that have been here know it's a long driveway.
Totally covered with leaves and sticks. I saw the reason power is out. There is a big white oak that fell across the power line on my driveway. I guess they will get it fox d sometime today.

We buy food in bulk when we run across a great deal. We have 2 large refrigerator/freezers and a large upright freezer packed full of food (mostly meat). After 24-hrs. with no elec, I started getting nervous. The power company said we may get power back in 3-hrs. or 3-weeks! We're approaching 3-days now and things are getting pretty miserable. As of last night, I'm on generator power. The little 'Yota served me well as a temporary fix, but it got to the point I had to get a bit more serious. I've got 5500 watts now which covers our necessities. All the fridges/freezers, a couple lights, fan, microwave ... so far, so good. No a/c, a MUST for me these days, so I move into my truck come bedtime. All the comforts of home. "Recliner, a/c, radio, lights ... who could ask for more? My truck has been idling in the driveway for going on 3-days now. At zero mph, my fuel mileage is sure taking a hit. The ol' 'puter says I'm only averaging 14.3 mpg! Lynn's getting a bit stressed, but with my PTSD meds, I just act like I'm in deer camp ... with a/c of course. ;)

Once we get power restored, the clean-up starts and the "fun" will be over. Right now, water comes back into the house as fast as we can remove it, so why bother? Our swimming pool is now a big boat and our house is a swimming pool. What's wrong with this picture?

The last remnants of that bitch from hell, just passed over us, moving to the southwest.....if she holds together, day'um if she won't actually end up down around Houston.....just what those folks need, more water----NOT !!!

That biatch doesn't want to give up.....she's headed southwest, and could actually get back into the gulf.....what are the chances of her reforming, when she gets over those warm gulf waters???
