View Full Version : Could Fall Really Be Here?

A new pack of robins hit this morning. Has to be 60-70 of them. They act a lot like leghorns if you ask me. The Coopers are thanking their raptor god I guess. I've been expecting them to show up any minute. Robins are their easiest/favorite around these parts.

We're expecting 90's the next day or two but the mornings are in the 50s. The algae dieoff though is in full swing in smaller bodies of still waters so you have to find alternatives. Plus my fishing buddy is busy getting stuff ready for deer season.

Its WAY too early for fall. Sure as heck, as soon as I start counting on it being here a hunnerd degree day will show up.

Fall is in the air! Temps dropped a bunch, leaves are falling off my fig tree and the kids are back in school. Won't be long before rainy season starts.

Some folks think the fall is the best fishing of the year.

It is around here... I just don't want it to end. I get sad after that.

I just keep fishing. There are plenty of warm days to fish through the winter.

Unless you're a pussy.

If one lives in the brackish gene pool of oklahoma, I suppose year round fishing is reasonable.

Man I had forgotten how hot it stays in the areas where some of you live! 90s? This time of year? Gadzooks!

We had a week earlier where we didn't break into the 70s but it looks like we are back into the mid 70s for a week and a half or so. Then back into the 60s for a while. I can see some of the leaves giving just a hint of yellow and orange as I drive out of the New River Gorge where you can see for miles. Autumn isn't here yet but it is not going to be long. Another couple weeks and these old mountains will be putting on a show. :p

We have a lot of yellow starting on the Walnut trees. They are the first to go here.
