I'd be somewhat happy, if I were you, Postie.....at least, with the AP poll.....MS State plays the best game of anyone this year, against Bama.....only team to score 3 TD's against Bama, and barely gets noticed.....fokk 'em !!!

I don’t know BM. It looks like they’re the highest ranked 3 loss team. That is something.

Yep, and all 3 losses are against 3 of the best football programs in the nation.....sure beats the h3ll outta #4 Wisconsin's 10-0 record against zero unranked teams, any day.....sorry, but that Wisconsin sheeit is still stuck in my craw.....I have absolutely no axe to grind with any of you Badger fans, but this poll crap is just ridiculous.

Miami doesn’t deserve all of this love either. They have no better of a resume of wins than Wisconsin.

There’s still two weeks of football left in the regular season. It’ll change two more times at least. All any of these top teams have to do is win out. And With Clemson-Miami still on the schedule, the ACC problem will solve itself.

I agree Posty.

My badgers are looking good but not great. You cannot have the ~OK~ play at QB that we do and expect to beat the best in the game. But sometimes he's pretty good. Depends on the day. But they have beaten some good teams.

Methinks that Miami is benefiting from a bit of SEC bias. They beat ND, who stayed close to Georgia.... but honestly Georgia has done nothing to indicate that they are a top 10 school either. Alabama is their usual great self. And the rest of the SEC is good to OK. But no more than that. This is a perfect example of why it makes zero sense to have 5 major conferences and 4 playoff spots. Nobody can tell who the best 4 teams are. Just get the top 16 and have a real playoff. Stop this insanity. :)

After they allowed other conferences into the Rose Bowl I was done with all of it. Forget the bowl games. Go with a playoff. And take the schedule back to 10 games. No exceptions. And your conference champion cannot be considered for the playoff unless they have played every other team in the conference. Period. Problem solved.

Trouble is that this is a lot like some of our serious problems in this nation. Solving them is easy it just isn't allowed because it hurts some powerful people.

Conference expansion ruined any chance of any team playing everyone in their conference. The Big 10 had it right in basketball when they were still the Big “10”. Once they added Penn State they had to change the schedule from one where each team played all the others home and away every year. The team with the best record was the champ and they didn’t need a tourney. Conference tournaments are nothing more than a money grab for them.

I agree with going to 16, limiting the regular season to 10 games and that conference expansion is an abomination. But, you better have a clear formula for selecting who the 16 teams are or you’re just changing the argument instead of ending it.

Penguin, like I said, I have no personal ill-feelings toward Wisc. or any other team.....I just simply despise the CFP system.....I do like some of your above suggestions.

Hell Big Muddy, having someone agree with ~some~ of my ideas is a big improvement actually. :)

As you boys know I am an alum of Wisconsin and West Virginia. Now when I was at Morgantown we played Maryland, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Pitt, Penn State. A long road trip to see a game was to Syracuse or Miami. Now we were absolutely blessed to have the Big 12 accept us as members, don't get me wrong. But our closest away game is in Ames Iowa. Nothing against Ames Iowa but if the traffic in Cleveland, Toledo, and Chicago ain't screwed up that is a 13 hour drive. 13 hours.

We've lost sight or the important stuff. And since the kids are footing the bill for all of this maybe we should consider changing things to where they are taken into consideration in all of this expansion madness.

Y’all seem set on 16 teams. What do you see that 16 does that 8 teams wouldn’t help solve?
And I agree that polls should have no part in deciding who plays in a playoff. None, zero, zip, nada. That one rule change would make a big difference IMO and would eliminate non conference winners. (And force ND to join a conference to be able to be in it)

As an aside, to me, there'd be nothing better than an Okie/Clemson or Okie/Bama champ. game, this year!!!.....twitch your nose, Postie, and make it happen !!! ;)

Correct answer: Kill the bowl system insofar as it is one that includes any of the better teams. :)

Well, I count at least 11 FBS conferences. In my system, every conference champion gets an invitation. I really don't want 5 at large. So, how about a 12 team play off with one at-large?

I believe there are ten fbs conferences. ‘Independants’ can suck it.

I could deal with ten. I do agree the ‘power’ conferences should have no preference in a playoff scenario.

I’m pretty sure there are 11. But, I think we have agreement in principle.
