IRVING, Texas - The College Football Playoff Committee has announced that former University of Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long will remain as a member of its selection committee.

College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock made the announcement Wednesday afternoon via the following statement:
"In consultation with the commissioner of the Southeastern Conference, the College Football Playoff management committee today voted unanimously to ask Jeff Long, the former Director of Athletics for the University of Arkansas, to continue his service as a member of the College Football Playoff selection committee. Mr. Long has accepted the invitation and he will serve for the remainder of this season."

The Selection Committee responsibilities include:

Rank the top 25 teams and assign the top four to semifinal sites.
Assign teams to New Year’s bowls.
Create competitive matchups.
Attempt to avoid rematches of regular-season games and repeat appearances in specific bowls.
Consider geography.

The committee’s logic for selecting Clemson at number 2 is that they essentially counted the loss to Syracuse as a half loss ‘because of the injury to their starting quarterback’. I guess the game ending injuries to the six Sooner starters in the Iowa State loss doesn’t count.
Fuckers.

It still makes no difference though. If we win out it would take some really twisted logic to rank someone else over us and if we don’t win out we don’t deservd a place at the table. (plus I’d rather see us face Alabama in the opening round if we make it)
But still, how effed up is that logic?

Well, he should have plenty of time to watch games and crunch numbers, he ain't got nothing else going on
