We have an area in town that use to be the State Hospital. It's a couple of hundred acres and is right in the middle of town. It has it's own deer herd and turkey flock.
Last spring we were sitting in the outdoors of a coffee shop and I see this hen turkey about 100 yd's away.
I was with two other guys and starting calling just using my voice. The hen lifted her head, change directions and starting running toward us. The other guys starting laughing, but she kept coming. About 5 yards away I stood up, waved may arms and shouted at her. She stopped looked at us, the turned and walked away, almost with a FU expression. I got a standing ovation from the other customers outside.
