Not political at all. I just simply don't know what this info means.

Anyone help me out?

-- The number of U.S. troops in Iraq has dwindled from nearly 140,000 to just 200, while the presence in Afghanistan has increased from 34,000 to 66,000.

Who are these 'presence' folks? What do they do? Who sent them? Who employs them?

?????

Dunno. Likely embassy duty and such.

66,000?

Really?

Not doubting you. Just very curious. That seems nuts. But.........

I get 'kitchen staff'.......I know the Army contracts food services. But what else????

Sorry, I thought you meant the 200 in Iraq.

OK never mind.

I am losing it. I misread the whole thing. I thought this said that the troops in afghanistan had decreased to a mere 200 but we still had 66,000 'service' people there.

Duh.

Ignore me today.
