As I get older, my skin bruises a lot easier, especially my hands and forearms., when working around the shop in tight areas.... I saw these in the Progressive Farmer magazine, and thought I'd try them out.....any of you guys even need or use them???

This is what my arms looked like, after dismantling my wife's Acadia fender wells to replace a fog light, after she hit a deer, a few days ago.

Something like this would keep you from accidentally stabbing yourself in the forearm!

I bet you’d get swamp arm wearing those things down in that god awful heat you have!

Haha, that's pretty quick Jimmie. :)

I know back in the old days cowboys and people who wore long sleeved shirts wore something similar. They were just a bit shorter though and looked to be something to keep you from tearing the cuffs and buttons off of the sleeve bottoms.

To be honest it looks like a good idea to me. But I have a higher tolerance for PPE than most people. Hell I even wear safety chaps when I run a chainsaw sometimes.

I can see where they might be a good idea but I don't know that I could bring myself to wear them. If I did, it would damn sure not be when someone else might see me.

Buncha city dufuses.....you only wear the dang things, when you're actually working around your shop or on equipment, etc.....I don't think they'd make much of a fashion statement around town. ;)

I bruised up my forearms really bad last week, removing the fender wells off my wife's GMC Acadia.....she hit, then ran over and killed, a big ole doe, right up the road.....she mostly just hit her in the head/neck because there was no damage to the vehicle, except it knocked a fog light out of the socket.....I had to remove the fender well, just enough to get my arm in there to push the fog light back into place.....got it done, but the arm chaps sure would have saved a bunch of my skin. ;)

And, no, I didn't skin the doe.....waaaaaaay too hot for that.....but I did give her a decent burial. ;)

Just trying to be helpful.
