9 of us drew permits this year and we were all done by 11:00 AM.
They are sure beautiful when they cup their wings and some into a spread of decoys!
What a get time this morning

You boys seem to have a pretty "natural grip" on those swan necks. Just sayin'

Still looks like a ton of fun!

Len I've heard of things like that happening in Thailand, but not America.

Never heard of anyone up this way hunting them over decoys, do you use actual swan decoys or something else?

Not only are those critters a blast to shoot but they taste mighty fine too. Way to go Cap'n.

Those things sure are something. Almost too beautiful to kill. Put a shotgun in my hand and I'm sure I'd get over that though. ;)

My question is, how do you miss? Be like shooting a 747.

Might not be hard to miss but they can take a hit or two and keep on going. Hence the reason I shoot them in the head if at all possible.

Yep. I shoot for the head and forget the rest of the bird is there. Just act like the head is a dove and lead it, you will usually hit head or neck and drop them. If you shoot at the whole "bird" you will see them fly off.
