I couldn’t tell you how many times I was on the receiving end of one of those growing up! Thinking back, I can’t think of one time I didn’t deserve it. 😳

Daddy whoop me with a belt 1 time, after that all he had to do was look at me...I knew that Look!

Same here A/B. My mom was the one who wore that belt out on my ass. My dad never once took the belt to me. All it took was that “look” and I’d be WISHING he’d just take the belt to my ass.

Chinaberry tree limbs were my parent's choice of discipline.....and, they'd make me cut my own.....day'um tree finally died 'cause it didn't have any limbs left on it. ;)

Yep, we had a large shrub just outside the back door that we kids called "The Switch Bush". Many times mom would be ready to "discipline" one of us and would tell us to go get her a switch! I have no idea what the real name of that bush was, but it had very long, super flexible shoots, You'd break one off and pinch it between your thumb and forefinger, then pull the stem through to strip all the leaves off. Considering I grew up in Florida, about all us kids EVER wore was a pair of shorts and nothing else. Those switches would really burn the back of those tender young legs! I speak from experience! :spank

My Mom just used whatever was in her hand at the time. Hopefully, she wasn't cooking when it was time to get my ass whooped.

I’ve been beaten with a lot of different shit. Given that my beatings were quite often real beatings, I hold a vastly different opinion than you guys on physical punishment. It is not a valid teaching method IMO. I am the poster child for that statement.

I believe there's a line that differentiates "spankings" and "beatings". Cross that line and it's considered abuse. JMHO

Thinking back, I don't think I ever received any punishment I didn't deserve.

I don’t believe in it myself but I’ve seen plenty. of youngins that I thought needed a swat on the behind.

Past toddler and grade school age though spankings are counterproductive IMO. My own continued until I was 17, at which point I left home and was estranged from my parents almost until after I got out of the Air Force when I suddenly became a ‘good kid’ in their eyes.

Even though I have a great relationship with my parents nowadays, its not something
i will ever forgive or forget.

I haven't had fried squirrel and gravy in 20 years or so. We don't have enough hardwood timber left in southern arkansas to hunt, and they won't let me hunt in town.

Now if you'd said beef wellington, or Vichyssoise or Pho, then you'd have been on point
