My son started playing youth league football this year. So far he absolutely loves it and was really excited yesterday when they finally set the team rosters and he found out what team he was on and got their game jerseys.

I’m glad he likes playing since I played in school also, but here come this issue.

I’ve been a Cowboys fan since I was a little kid. Guess what team he gets on?

The Redskins. 🤮

Here’s a pic of him when he first got his equipment.

Hail to the Redskins!

Seriously, I endured a baseball season of my oldest being a damned Yankee. This will pass.

There are only three teams in his age group so I guess he got the best of the options. The other two teams are the Bengals and the Browns.

Sounds like my soccer league. We play the same 6 teams over and over and over.

They have 6 games on the schedule through mid-October. Hopefully they balanced out the teams so that there isn’t one good one made up of all the older kids.

Let the games begin!

Those kids have so much fun at that age and they are a hoot to watch too. Enjoy it Dad.

Tell him to get real good at it and when he gets a bit older, he can have his choice of cheerleaders! (or maybe a few if he can swing it!) :D

Tell him Uncle Jim will be glad to provide guidance. ;)

Uncle Jim can’t even check for Adam’s apples... not sure I’d trust that advice....

The thing is, I think he’s already got it figured out and he’s only 8.

This summer at the little league ball field, every time we were there for one of his games just about every girl we passed said “hi” to him. Some of them were even 2 or 3 years older than him.

According to a friend of mine that I work with who has a daughter who goes to school with my son, they all like him because “he’s such a nice boy”. The parents even think so.

So he will do just fine as long as he keeps them thinking that. [emoji12]

It all makes sense then. If he’s a nice guy, he doesn’t belong in a Cowgirls uniform.

I've always heard, nice guys finish last.

(the girls will love him for that) :D

He is sounding a lot like my youngest boy...watch out.
