That is only to slow the young man down. I seriously doubt they will try to screw him out of a year of eligibility.

The way I read it is that he is a grad transfer just like Jalen Herts and would be eligible to play right away unless the Sooners block him, then he has to sit out a year.

True. But the circumstances are that this kid found out Hurts was visiting OU and that day he entered the tranfer portal and dropped out of school. Given what Tech did to Mayfield, there is no way they will try to affect his eligibility. They’re just trying to help a kid not make a rash decision.

I honestly don’t know how they could keep him from playing immediately anyway. The rules are pretty clear. Coaches can’t do that crap any more.
