Just saw this and it reminded of reading about one of the first Goodhunting get-togethers. Some of our NOVA bunch went sika deer hunting years ago, I forget where.

Apparently CWD is scaring the bejeebers out of game managers. Article below on sika deer in New York state. Do they still have the Sika deer where you guys hunted?

CWD is really making an impact in a lot of areas. I read a VDGIF article that said left unmonitored it could wipe out the entire heard of a state the size of Virginia in a matter of 3-4 years.

They’re mostly down in Assateague Island where Misty and the ponies roam. There’s also a few on the mainland, but I don’t know how huntable they are. They’re actually a mini elk and not a deer. They even bugle and everything.

Yep, and Hank and me. It was my first meeting of most of them. Long time ago!
