Tpost, you need to get over there, and spray this guy down with some of your pepper sauce. ;)

I got bit once by those @#$% things while staying at a hotel. It was a long miserable recovery. I never realized how bad those things are until I got my first hand experience. I hope it was the last experience as well.

Every time we have to stay in a hotel/motel I get the yips about the possibility of those damn things?

I’m shocked that they’d bite a lawyer out of fear they’d catch something.

Hate the little bastards! Got into the habit of checking under mattresses etc when ever we stay in a motel/hotel room. No surprises so far, thankyouverymuch.

Can you see them if you check under the mattress?

Well, that's the theory anyway.

I don’t know what they look like or even if they are big enough to see. I damn sure will look under the mattress from now on!

I’ve been told you should check by pulling the sheet up and checking at the sides of the mattress. Also, never put your suitcase in the bed in a hotel room.

Whenever we stay at a hotel, the first thing my wife does is spray down everything in our room with Lysol and a light dose of Bengal bug spray.

Yes. You definitely can.
Few years ago my and the wifey were on a trip with my brother and his wife.
We stopped somewhere outside Atlanta, and got two rooms. About 2 minutes after we walked into our room, my SIL was calling my wife telling her to “NOT TOUCH OR SIT ANYTHING ON OUR BED”.
Turns out, she’s a “bug checker” when she gets a hotel room. She pulled up the fitted sheet and they was crawling everywhere.
We went to the front desk, got our money back, and went across the street to another hotel.

You can see them in the seams and crevices. If not the actual bugs, then definitely signs they are there.
