You commented on scope choice a few weeks ago and now I’d like a full review since you said you had one.
I bought a leupold vx3i 3.5-10x50 scope and I’m gonna sit it on top of a little 300 RUM.
Do you still shoot with that optic and are you happy with it?

I no longer have the scope or the rifle that the scope resided on. I had no complaints about the scope and would buy another one in a heart beat if I decided I needed one. Pretty flawless performance as scopes go. I can't imagine not liking it. I'm not really sure what you are looking for in a review, but it was clear, bright, good edge to edge sharpness, good light transmission. The turrets tracked accurately. The scope never failed in any way.

That’s what i wanted to know! The thump that a 300 RUM can put on a scope I just wanted to see if you thought it would withstand heavy hitting.

That scope will probably hold up better than your shoulder.

It should handle it. I had mine on a 300RUM's little brothers a 30.06 and 300WinMag. No issues.

It is going straight to a gunsmith in Texas to have a brake installed... before i even see it.

A feller I know said it’ll kick less than an 06 when I get it back

If you’re so worried about the recoil from a .300RUM you are having a muzzle brake installed don’t be, your vagina should absorb it.

Uh huh.... ask any long range shooter if they’d have a 300rum WITHOUT a brake.
Plus, if you knew what I paid for this gun, you’d think I stole it. I didn’t, I bought it off gun broker and it’s going through an FFL.
Even with a custom $245 brake job, I’ll be at 70% of what you’d pay out of the box - WITHOUT the brake.

I am just busting your chops my Weatherby 6.5-300 has a brake on it, the varriant I wanted came with a brake as standard. I have shot it with it on and off and I didn’t think the recoil was unbearable. In reality the only time I ever notice recoil is when I am sighting a gun in. When I am shooting at a critter I never even feel it.

What kind are you getting?
