.... back to the old drag. Sitting here in the Delta Sky Club scarfing up a free breakfast (and a couple Bloody Mary’s) while waiting for our flight to start boarding. We’ll hit Orlando, this afternoon and start the daily grind. Be good dudes, catch you on the other side.

Well crap! We just left the lounge and while walking to our gate, I received a call from my sister letting me know my mom passed away a few minutes ago. :(

She was doing great yesterday on Mother’s Day. This sucks.

Man I’m so sorry to hear this Jim. Your mom and I had some great conversations years ago and I always enjoyed talking to her.
Hope you are OK friend. That’s a hard hand to play.

Thanks guys. I hadn't really planned on spending today making funeral arrangements, but I need to buckle down. Her burial plot is here, but she passed away in Houston, so we have some logistics to deal with. She made it clear she'd never want to be cremated, so that's a major transportation issue to address. We just got home from LA late last night and I'm pretty whooped, but I need to get to work here. Thanks again for the well wishes guys, it's appreciated. BTW, she was 87 ... not the longest run, but she had a good one while it lasted. It's always tough when you see someone so alive, cheerful and vibrant one day, yet a matter of hours later, they're gone. Just a reminder to treat EVERY day like it's your last.
