Well, it seems Iran just shot down one of our drone's over International waters. All the brass in D.C. are now banging their heads together to decide what to do about it. But the goofy thing is, I was watching FOX News while eating my sammich for lunch and they're all over the story. First, they show a clip of President Trump making a statement.

The President said, "... it made a big, big difference that the drone had nobody in it."

Ok, first of all, if the aircraft had "somebody in it", it wouldn't be a drone! But, you can take that statement to mean that if it had been a manned aircraft, it would be a whole 'nuther ballgame. Knowing Trump and his grasp on the English language, it's hard to know what he really meant.

BUT ... then the "girls" of FOX News take the statement and run with it! They start yammering about what may have happened if an American serviceman (or woman) had been piloting that drone. Or if that drone had people in it, things would be quite a bit more serious, etc, etc, etc. Yammer, yammer, yammer ....

Listen shit for brains ... all o'youse "news people" ... if a drone were manned, it wouldn't be a frigging drone!

Definition: Drone - an unpiloted aircraft. Another term for it is an "unmanned aerial vehicle," or UAV.

DUH!

Remember you’re dealing with politicians and media here, intelligence sold separately

Well, TBH, when it comes to reporters, I think 99% are total morons anyway, regardless of the network they work for. But that's just me.

Like Schwarzkopf insinuated, we shoulda nuked the hell outta that entire day'um area, and turned it into a big glass parking lot, while we were already over there, and had the chance.....nah, he didn't actually say that, but I bet he was day'um sure thinking it. ;)

I was talking with a guy at one of my son’s baseball games who works for a company that does the painting of military equipment. This was right after the incidents with the tankers but before the drone shoot down. He said that they had been painting everything the woodland green but just switched over to the desert tan and are adding another shift due to increased work.

Kinda leads you to believe that something is in the works.

Heck, when's the last time anything military was woodland green anyway? Vietnam?

I think they still use O.D. green in Europe. That way the Russians can't see 'em. ;)

Whatever color green you want to call it smartass.

The point was they switched over to the tan color and added another shift doubling output.

Ha ha! You totally missed my point. Woodland green or baby-shit green, I don’t care what you call it. I just wrote OD (Olive Drab) green out of habit because that’s what it was officially called in MY military days. I have no clue whether that’s changed or not.

The point I was trying to make was, all the REALLY hotspots we have right now are in the Middle East, where we use the Desert Sand color. I would have to think we have bazillions of “green” tanks scattered all over the country (Guard units?) we could have simply switched out. Just typical government waste imho.

Thump, this is easy....
they had green tanks, now they need tan tanks. DD’s buddy is painting them.

No need to speak ill of Cappy’s President.... he spends money wisely.

Yeah, I missed sumpin’ there I guess somehow I read that they were painting tan tanks green, then switched back to tan. No clue where that came from. Cut me some slack. I’m old.
