Time for a little Dad bragging.

My son finished his baseball season this weekend.

His team finished the regular season in 2nd place. They had an 8-2 record and were tied for first in the standings but missed out on the championship because of a run differential tie breaker. My son had a great year and was automatic at the plate going 22-25 at the plate with only one strikeout.

He was picked for the All-star tourney team. They ended up winning the tourney and he kept it up at the plate going 10-14 over the 5 games.

I don’t have a better picture, they are all on my wife’s phone.

Very cool! Competitive or rec league? I know some folks whose son was in a competitive league and I think they spent just about every weekend somewhere at a tourney in summer.

The regular season was in the local kids league. The tournament was fairly local as well.

We went through the whole club travel thing with my daughter and volleyball. We are holding off on that with baseball so far, but his coaches are talking about doing more games and travel next year.

Now we get a break of about a month until football starts for him.

My wife’s entire family is pretty short, I think my father-in-law is around 5’8”, so when my son was born I told my wife if he ends up taking after her family height wise, he’d be in a kart by the time he was 4. However, he takes after me. He’s just turned 9 last month and is already getting close to catching my wife. He’ already something close to 4’8”. He’s not going to have the right body type to be a driver.

Dang, if he keeps going at that rate, he may need to switch to basketball. ;)

Here’s a photo from after the game. It’s my in-laws, then my son with my daughter behind him, my wife and I.

This post made my day DD. Now that is a fine way to spend the afternoons, watching the lad playing ball. :)
