Poor color this year, late fall storm had strong wind and rain, knocked down lots of leaves before they reached their peak. This was taken 10-2510990
This is as of today, early surprise, I guess fall is over .

Me neither! It’s been so dry here that I don’t think we’re going to get much color this year. I’ll I have to live vicariously through JB.

I've always liked your pics Bubba, although I've never really understood what's happening. What's a "season"?? :huh

HA, down here, that would be salt, red pepper, garlic, cumin, chili powder, brown gravy, hot sauce, cat-head biscuits, etc., etc......and, for Sunday lunch, throw in mashed taters. ;)

We're "green as a gourd" here.. even the walnuts have barely started. Big changes in temps next week. We'll see..

By the by.. Going to try and combine some beans around noon. First time we've turned a wheel.. Approx.. 3 weeks behind before we ever get started..

We're in the 70's for a few days this week, but come Sat. the SNOW word popped up. Not here, but inland about 50 miles from here.
Forecast is rain mixed with snow, and the trees are still green.

cut about a hundred acres yesterday afternoon.. will take a lot of ham bones. ;) Saw something I've never seen before.. corn sprouting on the ear.. Hoping there's not much of it.. I know you southern boys see it occasionally.. we don't need more problems..

I've seen it late in the season after a long bout of rain. There was a gentleman here who used to sell corn to the locals. One year he had some health problems and was a bit late getting to his harvest. That, plus a rainy spell caused some sprouting. He decided not to sell ANY of the crop (small patch of land) that season. He informed me I could have as much as I wanted if I was interested. Lynn and I went over and picked enough to fill my pick-up! Once we got it home, we found very little in the way of sprouting (just a few here and there) and froze the whole batch still in their husks. Needless to say, we had plenty of corn and it lasted us quite a while. I'm just glad we'd recently emptied the large freezer we keep in the garage!
