I need to install a new downdraft vent in our island that has the stove on it. To do the one she wants, I have to have somebody cut a notch out of it a couple inches wide and 32” long.
Anybody ever had that done? Can they do it ‘in place’ or do they come take it somewhere to cut it? Is it spendy?

Sorry, just got home. Yep, it can be done in place. It's common these days for people to install new cook tops or sinks, etc. that need the granite counter top modified to fit. You just have to get a company that knows what it's doing. Dust control is a factor and why you don't want some jackleg doing it.

Just take a hammer and a chisel to it. It’ll be fine.

Bucky can help you with that Posthole.

Sure! Not much difference between a screwdriver and a chisel anyway, right? ;)

I’d certainly think someone will do that for you in place. While you watch. Just make sure your checkbook is handy!
Maybe you could trade mason jars instead of money!

I have some old wood chisels that have been used for about every purpose imagineable. Maybe even chiseling wood! Those’d prolly work.

Maybe you could use one to chisel your posts down from two to one. 😉

The REAL question is, has he ever used one to mount his rifle scope? 😉
