Check out the coloration of this female Cardinal. Usually they're olive but this one is almost a bright yellow. Using my game cam since I'm not deer hunting Keeping photos of all the different species, so far only eight. Not getting any of the migratory birds except a few Junco's and Goldfinches.

That’s a strange color for sure. It acutally does look olive colored in the photo.

Since the hawks have thinned out the starlings, we have a bunch more cardinals. Seems like the Cardinals must nest in places that are harder to get to or something.

AB I’m a Cards baseball fan so my ringtone is a cardinal. I love to go out and play it just to see how close the roosters will fly in to check it out. They’ll almost land right on me looking for that mf.

I love sitting out on my back deck when I’m grilling in the spring and early summer and whistling back at them. They will keep responding long past when I get bored or the meat is done.

I’ve got a pair that nest in a bush in front of my house every year. The male is constantly flying into the windows. I’m surprised he hasn’t killed him self by doing that.

They seem to have pretty spirited competition between the roosters. He prolly sees himself in the reflection and wants to run that guy off.
I have the same reaction some mornings when I look in the mirror.

We don't get those critters around here, but the males sure are purdy.

I had a slow motion video of him flying into the window. I’ll have to see if I can find it.
