Merry Christmas to all. I’m getting things finished up right now getting ready to host my wife’s extended family tonight. We usually have close to 40 at our place tonight. Tomorrow we open our gifts at home in the morning then head to my in-laws.

I’m surprising my daughter with tickets to see Hamilton in Indy the day after Christmas.

Finally, we are then heading towards Thump’s neck of the woods for New Years. Some friends invited us to their place in Siesta Key. Leaving for there on the 27th and heading back home the 2nd or 3rd.

Sad to say, I was a NASCAR fan before it was NASCAR. That said, it just ain’t racin’ no mo’. It’s big business mixed with tons of b/s, over regulation and dingle-butt drivers. Kind’a like the government. TBH, I haven’t watched a race this year. I might have watched the Daytona 500, but I can’t honestly say for sure. Heck, I don’t even have the slightest clue who won the championship. It just ain’t fun to watch no mo’. I’ll leave it to the youngsters who have no clue how things used to be. :(

Yeah Cappy, it may be about the same with me. Two seasons ago, I watched the Daytona 500 and Talladega. I’m not really sure what I watched 3 years ago, but it’s a cryin’ shame what money and b/s has done to NASCAR.

According to my parents, I attended my first race (before NASCAR was NASCAR) while still in my mom’s belly. In fact, my godfather, Red Vogt (you can Google him .... I called him Pappy while growing up) actually named NASCAR during the meeting at the Streamline Motel with Bill France to form NASCAR. For a true lifetime fan like me to walk away from it, speaks volumes imho. :(
