One thing I have to admit, I was in a blue funk for many months after his death. Heck, I've lost actual family members and it didn't upset me as much. I have no clue why and I hate admitting that. I used to run around the pits with Dale when we were kids and his dad Ralph was racing (against us!). Ralph was solid gold and even loaned us a part to get us going when we broke down just before qualifying one year.

I hunted with Eddie Salter a few years ago.. He was good friends with Dale.. Heard some great stories around the fire in the evening.. ;)
