After Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated, practically EVERY frigging metropolis, city, town, burgh, village, township, borough or settlement in the country renamed one or more of their thoroughfares to MLK street, road, avenue, boulevard, highway, freeway, parkway, crossway, turnpike or expressway. I won't even approach the city parks, plazas, schools, playgrounds, squares, statues or memorial gardens. IMHO, mostly to appear as PC as possible for fear of appearing "insensitive" and reached the point of ridiculousness and overkill. (again, jmho)

PLEASE tell me DC's Mayor isn't going to set a precedent for another battle of "our town is more sensitive than your town".

I saw a news story on tv this morning. It had a video taken by the police helicopter of a black dude who parked his car in the middle of the road, then stepped out onto the roadway. A cop pulled up and tried to talk to him, but when he ignored the cop and started walking back towards his car, the cop drew HER gun, told him to stop and place his hands on top of his car. The dude kept walking towards his car and the cop repeatedly ordered him to stop. He completely ignored the cop each time until he reached the driver’s door, then reached into the car through the open window. That’s when she shot him as she was afraid he was reaching for a weapon.

Of course, you KNOW where it went when no weapon was found. WHITE COP SHOOTS UNARMED BLACK MAN. After the investigation and an autopsy which found the dude was on drugs, the cop was exonerated. All hell broke loose and it became another Black Lives Matter issue.

Who the “F” would want to be a cop these days?

When the offender isn’t a cop.

According to the US DOJ, the homicide victimization rate for blacks is 6 times higher than for whites and the homicide offending rate for blacks is 7 times higher than for whites.

It seems that the idea of blacks killing other blacks doesn’t upset them as much as cops killing blacks does regardless of the officer’s race.
