Number one, I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a pair of Crocs, but I can’t imagine the smell after wearing them a few times. For some odd reason, the smell of fried chicken and sweaty feet doesn’t sound very appetizing. 😝

Neither crocs nor flip flops nor slides or ugly shoes of any sort will ever go on my feet. I’d have to split cowboy boots up the side to get them on.

Kinda limits my footwear

I was born and raised in Florida and I'd have to double-check my hospital baby pics, but I believe I was also born wearing a pair of flip-flops. I also wear sandals WITHOUT SOCKS (attention you sandals and black stretch knee-socks wearin' Yankees!). But Crocs? Naaa, not a snowball's chance in Hell!

Now, I'll admit, Lynn bought me a pair of Nike slides, but I hid them in my closet until she asked why I wasn't wearing them. I told her I was "saving" them to wear in our hotel rooms when we travel. Of course, the first time we left town and checked into a hotel room, she asked where they were. Ummmm, "I forgot to pack them". I got away with it twice, until she put them in my carry-on bag where they now reside. We're headed to Daytona Beach for a few days this weekend, so I won't have an excuse this time around. :crybaby

That said, she also bought me a pair of Skechers slip-ons a while back. Same deal, I avoided them, but she always asked where they were (hidden in the back of my closet). I finally wore them out of guilt and man-o-man, they are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and they've "grown on me". The main benefit is I'd always worn tennis shoes (prolly have a dozen pair of Reeboks), but after my back surgeries (and an ever expanding belly), tying my shoes is a major operation these days, so these make life much simpler. In fact, Lynn had to tie my shoes for me for probably 3 years after the surgeries before I was able to do it myself. These things still look clunky to me, but "F-it" ... I'm fat, bald and pushing 70 years old .... so as Hillery says, "At this point, what difference does it make?" Besides, the wimmins love me no matter what I'm wearin'. :fine

I recently visited a quaint little brewery in the mountains of Virginia with a guy who wore Crocs with SOCKS!

He totally degraded the entire experience for me.

The millennials in attendance said slides and socks were acceptable.

Also, Am I my brothers keeper?

If I’m going to the lake I wear a pair of Keen Newport’s.

The rest of the time during the summer I’m wearing either a pair of the mesh or leather Olukais all without socks.

I wear sandals quite often (with NO YANKEE SOCKS!!) Always Teva (Terra) and prolly have 5-6 pairs of them. Believe it or not, I got hooked on them years ago when I was skydiving regularly. It seemed all the veteran skydivers swore by them. I tried 'em, liked 'em and never looked back.

Bite me Thump!

BTW those are hardly clogs and although I’m not as agile as I was when I was still doing SWAT, I do okay still.

Here’s better pics of the actual shoes.

I’ll stick with my crocs. Best camp shoe or slippers I’ve found. Strangely both cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I’m usually a flip flop guy around the house in the summer. I even have a pair with a bottle opener built into the sole.

I have a pair of camo crocs that I got in 2009 for Christmas. They are my go to shoes for around the house to this day.
The bottoms are slippery as a minnows peter after all these year but they sure are comfy!

Those stupid crocs are all fine and dandy until you step on wet concrete with them and crack your head open. Won't own a pair but then again, I'm a northerner. Mukluks are all the rage for summertime beachwear. ;-)

People who wear Crocs remind me of an old buddy of mine, Alex. I swear, he always dated the fugliest wimmins on earth. When I questioned him about it, he said they were the best lay you could ever ask for ('cause they had to try harder). Everybody I know who wears Crocs, talks about how comfortable they are, but all they do is remind me of old Alex. I never tried to verify his claim either. ;)
