I have a friend visiting Iowa right now.

Cedar Rapids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-gx_gWF2NE
and Marion are devastated.

Had a inland hurricane hit with winds 110-120 mph.

She’s in a hotel with no power and had to throw away her food.
Power lines and trees are down everywhere.

Most building have damage or destroyed

I don’t know how many GH members we have in Iowa.

Both my son and daughter are in the CR area.. daughter lives in a more rural smaller housing development. They were out of power about 18 hours.. They have a community well.. they have a generator on it so at least they had water. Son and grandson's area looked like a war zone. They found their way out (said he drove over trees and curbs) and came and stayed with us a couple days (we're south - we just had a few broken limbs).. They just headed back - still not knowing if they have power. He figured he'd better go see if he needed to clean out the frig and freezer. Haven't heard back yet..

Some of our Dogtooth group live in the CR area, home of the National Czech and Slav Museum!, and the pictures they have posted are pretty bad. Lots of chainsaw work to do around there! I don’t know how many acres of crops were lost.

Inland hurricanes, why the fuck not it’s 2020. Maybe them Mayans weren’t wrong just a few years off.
