Labor Day Weekend Plans

The last of the three ‘never take your boat out on...’ holidays. We always pretty much have the public waters to ourselves after Labor Day, not sure why since our best weather is Sep-Oct for getting out on the water. Whatever!
We’re gonna smoke meat, grill meat, fry meat, and maybe throw in a bean or two here and there. Our daughter is living with us for now so she’ll be here and our son who lives close will bring the grands by for some pool time, I’m sure. Time to stock the garage fridge with a few barley pops I guess.

Pretty boring eh? Such is the life of us elders.

Well, I got wind that the kids and grands are throwing a belated surprise 50th anniv. party for wifey and me, this Sunday, so I guess we'll be sticking around the ole homestead for that.....a bunch of friends and family are invited, too.
It's our dove season opener weekend, so we'll be wasting plenty of money on shotgun shells, too.
I hope they ALL bring so good stuff to eat because it's just too day'um hot for me to fry, grill, smoke, barbecue, bake, or boil a day'um thing!!!!! ;););)

Been running around Orlando all day. Had lunch at my favoritist pastrami place (Since 1958) and we have Puerto Rican food planned for dinner tonight. I’m not sure what’s on the agenda for tomorrow. I’ll have to consult with my trip planner.

Deer archery opened at noon today so am hoping to get out with the stick and string at some point over the weekend, BUT we picked up the carpet last night for the man cave that is in the upstairs of the shop we started building last fall so... Guessing this will be a mostly working Labor Day even though I should be up trying to catch me a salmon.

4 day trap shoot, starting today. Weather was good today except for the wind, tomorrow is looking real good.
Sunday and Labor Day calls for rain, that's not good shooting weather.
Tomorrow night we have a surprise birthday party for #1, he's a big 50, :cakenow that's something that really makes you feel OLD

We’re loading up and headed over to Lake Gaston, about 2 1/2 hours west from here.
Back tomorrow, then grillin and chillin by the pool. High tomorrow is 82, I’ll take it!
