Got up at 5am, and drove nearly 60 miles to a buddy's farm for a squirrel hunting invite....absolutely beautiful morning....absolutely beautiful farm....absolutely sucky woods....he forgot to tell me that his timber is nearly 90 percent towering pines.
Pines are a scourge for dog hunters....can't see sheeit, up thru all those evergreen branches....Sandy did her job, as usual, but we just couldn't find 'em in all those branches and pine needles.
Got to visit and walk the woods with my old buddy, so it was worth the trip.
