View Full Version : Wow! Odd how "triggers" work.

Not a "mechanical" trigger .... a mental one.

We're experiencing our first cold wave of the winter and I took the trash out at 4:30 this morning (I've always been an early riser) and it's 48 degrees right now! That may not sound all that low to most of you deplorables, but that's considered almost frigid to us folks. It'll be short-lived as the temps will be rising all week and supposed to be 80 degrees by Friday, but this morning was enough to trigger old memories of deer hunting. Crisp, "cold" temp, crystal clear, starlit sky and the fact it was 4:30 am made me "feel" like I was heading to my stand instead of just the curb. Even still, I was wearing only shorts and flip-flops instead of being dressed in layers of camo carrying a gun instead of a bag of garbage. ;)

Just the mental image of you standing out there in the dark in nothing but shorts and flip flops is enough to trigger my gag reflex. [emoji12]

Waking up to a full trash can and a sink full of dishes every morning triggers my ass too, especially when I live with to grown ass women who can’t seem to find the dishwasher two feet away or take out a goddamned bag of trash.

There I feel better already. Thanks, Jim. This triggering stuff is cleansing.

Well, I guess I gots ya' beat there. I don't cook and I don't do dishes. My job is to eat and take out the trash. ;)

Oh .... and Bite Me CD!

It triggers memories of when I could go to the store and buy a box of 22 shells for a dollar, now you can't buy a box for any price. Hoarding bastages.

I don't feel any better........................................

Yessir, I remember the days when I swore if CCI Stingers ever went over a penny per round, I'd refuse to buy them. Of course, that's about the same time I said the same about gas if it ever hit $1/gal. :(

I said the same thing about weed if it went over $30 an oz.

Ha! After 3-1/2 years in Thailand with a never-ending supply of FREE Thai Stick, I swore I'd never pay for weed. That changed shortly after my ETS date. :crybaby
