Bubba had been going to Ole Miss for about 8 years, but did not have enough credits nor grade point average to graduate. The Dean of Admission called Bubba in and said even though he was well liked by staff, faculty, other students and the alumni, he was somewhat an embarrassment to the school.
The Dean said Homecoming was about 4 weeks away and the University President would ask Bubba a single question on the 50 yard line, and if he answered correctly he would graduate. If not he had to leave the campus.
Bubba hired a couple of tutors and crammed until homecoming. He met the President at the 50 yard line and the President said "Bubba, what is 3 times 3???”. Bubba thought and thought and finally said 9. Just as the President was fixing to congratulate Bubba, all the staff, faculty, and alumni stood up and yelled "Give him another chance, give him another chance !!!”
