I reported the duplicate profile just to make sure they don't duplicate and con any friends.

I guess that’s a problem with Facebook. It’s open to the public. I seldom even look at it. I’ve seen that same photo all over the Internet. I never put it up anyplace but Facebook.

For the record when I generally get a scammer trying to add me she's far better looking and offers some sort of service...your scammer profile is weak

I have no clue what's going on with this silly Facebook crap. I just received a phone call from my cousin in California telling me she got the same message. She also received a message that I've won $500,000 in some sort of lottery. I just went to my page and there's a long post on MY page from a family friend who is on my friend's list. I don't know what that's all about ... it's a post that SHOULD be on HER page, but I just checked her page and it's not there. How it ended up on MY page, I have no clue. She LIVES on Facebook and must spend 3/4 of her life posting on her page, so I suspect there's some sort of connection. Makes no sense to me. I also received a couple messages from Facebook saying:

I do -

People duplicate a profile of yours. Pull your pic and basically create a second profile. Then the send a message from you, or what looks like it is from you and say something like the above. The next message is generally something like give me your CC so I can wire you some.

The second message you have was me reporting it. That other profile is now gone. I didn't want them to be able to message your friends from the fake profile, so I reported it so it would be removed. (see my above note)
