I live in Polk County and have voted for Grady in every election he's ever been a candidate in. He's so popular here, he's always been the only one on the ticket because anyone who would run against him would surely lose. I just ran across some of his quotes (he's BIG on news conferences and always keeps the public informed). He definitely has a way with words and the (good) citizens here love him. Grady Judd quotes: (this is a SMALL sample of snippets from some of his news conferences)
"Become proficient, get a concealed firearms license, and carry your gun.
If you need to shoot somebody, shoot 'em a lot.
You're responsible for protecting yourself until we arrive."
A pussified reporter questioned why Polk Sheriff SWAT
shot a criminal 68 times. (he'd killed a deputy and his K9, plus wounded another deputy)
....."That's all the bullets we had!", answered Sheriff Grady Judd.
"[To looters] I would tell them, if you value your life, they probably shouldn’t do that in Polk County. Because the people of Polk County like guns, they have guns, I encourage them to own guns, and they’re going to be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded, and if you try to break into their homes to steal, to set fires, I highly recommend they blow you [looters] back out of the house with their guns!"
"I can assure you, if someone breaks into my home,
